Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this little fire guy, Darumaka, in Pokémon GO. I wanted to figure out the best way to use him in battles, you know, the best moves and all that. I spent a good chunk of my day trying different things out, and here’s what I found.
First, I caught a bunch of Darumakas. I mean, a LOT. I wanted to get a good one, with high IVs and all that jazz. I walked around my neighborhood like a madman, tapping on every Darumaka I saw. My phone’s battery took a beating, but it was worth it. I finally got one that looked pretty strong.

Then, I started experimenting with the moves. From what I read, everyone was going on about Ice Fang and Ice Beam for the Galarian Darumaka. I guess that makes sense since it’s an ice type. So, I powered up my best Galarian Darumaka and used some TMs to get those moves.
Trial and error
I took my newly-powered Darumaka to some gyms. I battled a few Pokémon, tried different strategies. Honestly, Ice Fang felt pretty good. It was fast, and it seemed to do decent damage. Ice Beam was also powerful, especially when I used it right after Ice Fang. But then, I started thinking, “What if I tried something different?”
- I started playing around with other moves. I tried Tackle, but it felt kind of weak. It wasn’t terrible, but Ice Fang was way better.
- I kept using the combination of Ice Fang and Ice Beam, which is what folks online said was the best for this ice type variant.
- The moves really shined when the weather in the game was either Partly Cloudy or Snow, it seems that they got some kind of boost.
Final thoughts
After all that battling, I think I get why everyone’s saying Ice Fang and Ice Beam are the best for Galarian Darumaka. They really do pack a punch. They seemed to work best against the Pokémon I was facing. If you’re using a Darumaka, especially the Galarian one, I’d say give those moves a shot. They might not be the best for everything, but they worked pretty darn well for me.
It was a fun little experiment. Now, I have a pretty strong Darumaka ready for some serious gym battles. Time to find some strong evolution and see what happens! Maybe I should use it in some raids. We’ll see!
