Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “March of the Machine” thing for Magic: The Gathering. It’s the newest set that just came out, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and get a handle on these prices.
I started digging around on January 17th. That’s when they started showing off the new cards. The whole thing dropped on Arena on April 18th, and the full global release was a few days later, April 21st. They had this big preview event where they dumped a ton of spoilers.

First, I scoured the web for any early info. I wanted to get a sense of what cards were being hyped up. I saw some cards had already been revealed, so I started making a list of those.
Then, I started to see pricing, I wrote everything down. I made a big table with all the cards, trying to keep track of their different printings. This was a real pain, let me tell you. I wanted every printing of each card in its own row in my table. So, I put each printing in a separate row to keep things clear.
As I was doing this, I noticed some cards had abilities like “Destroy target artifact, battle, enchantment, or creature with flying.” Cool stuff, right? I also found cards like “Attentive Skywarden” that had abilities triggered by dealing combat damage. I made sure to note these down too, ’cause those details can really impact the price.
- Kept an eye on the “The List” updates.
- Watched the debut stream for more spoilers.
- Tracked prices as they became available.
My Strategy
I tried to be super organized. I wanted to see everything, even if it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. This way, I figured I wouldn’t miss any deals or price changes. It was a bit of a grind, but I think it paid off. I now have a pretty decent list of what these cards are going for, at least for now. Prices change like crazy in this game, so who knows how long this will last!
Anyway, it was a fun little project. Now I feel like I have a better handle on this whole “March of the Machine” thing. Hopefully, this helps me make some smarter buys in the future. We’ll see!
